What is the Feldenkrais Method?
The Feldenkrais Method is an innovative approach to movement and learning that helps people improve how they move, feel, and function in daily life. Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, it is based on the idea that our bodies and minds are deeply connected, and that by exploring movement with awareness, we can unlock new possibilities for comfort, flexibility, and strength.
Instead of focusing on exercise or stretching, Feldenkrais uses gentle, mindful movements to retrain the nervous system. These lessons help people discover more efficient, natural ways of moving—whether walking, sitting, reaching, or breathing.
The practice can support people of all ages and abilities. It is used by dancers, musicians, athletes, and people recovering from injury, as well as anyone looking to reduce pain, improve posture, and move with greater ease.
Through Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes and Functional Integration® (FI) one-on-one sessions, Feldenkrais gives you tools to expand your movement possibilities and improve your quality of life.
